Mark & Graham Monogrammed Acrylic Tray
Growing up in Northern Michigan, I’m no stranger to harsh winters and the effects they can have on our skin. Chapped lips, dry skin and flaky patches seem to be a reoccurring habit but thankfully, I’ve found some must have products to stop the cycle. From oils to lip balms to creams, I’m breaking down all my favorites today to help keep your skin hydrated and glowing all winter long!
FACE MASKS: When it comes to face masks in the winter, I look for two things: exfoliating and hydrating. I always seem to get flaky patches in the winter, especially around my chin and nose, so I look for a great exfoliating mask to help get rid of dry skin. I’ve raved before how much I love the L’Oreal Exfoliate & Refine Pores Pure Clay Mask, thanks to its great price (under $10!) and gives your skin a glowing polish. For hydration, I love the Peter Thomas Roth Blue Marine Algae Intense Hydrating Mask to layer on after my shower. Not only is it deeply hydrating and nourishing, the gel formula also helps deliver maximum anti-aging moisture to your skin and protect it from any damaging effects of dehydration.
SERUMS AND OILS: I used to always make fun of my mom when she would slather her face in oil at night but now I do the exact same! I rely on Skinceuticals C E Ferulic every morning to add antioxidants to my skin and I truly believe it has dramatically changed my skin. For the winter, I layer on Skinceuticals Hydrating B5 Gel after to add extra hydration to my skin. All you need is a tiny drop to instantly hydrate your skin all day. After I wash my face at night, I slather on Goop Enriching Face Oil or Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate to make sure my skin is as hydrated possible before bed. What I also love about Goop’s Oil is that it also is wonderful on its own. For weekends when I’m trying to be makeup free, I apply this all over my face for glowy and soft skin all day.
FACE AND BODY CREAMS: I’m super particular when it comes to the lotions and creams I use. I hate anything too heavy or greasy, but still want to make sure it keeps my skin hydrated all day. For my face, I alternate between a few favorites at night. I love Goop’s Replenishing Night Cream to layer over their oil before I head to bed. Some other favorites though? Peter Thomas Roth’s Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream, which is so lightweight but deeply moisturizing and Skinceuticals Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2, which is packed full of moisturizing anti-aging benefits . For body though, my ultimate go-to is Bliss’ Body Butter. It comes in so many incredible scents (my favorite is the Blood Orange and White Pepper), it is so creamy on dry skin, but doesn’t leave me feeling greasy.
LIP PRODUCTS: Like your skin, it’s important to exfoliate your lips in the winter. One of my favorites is Fresh’s Sugar Lip Polish, which helps scrub away any flaky patches with brown sugar. For on the go, especially when I know I’ll be wearing lipstick and want to keep my lips smooth, I keep this e.l.f. Lip Exfoliator with me at all times for a quick touch up. After exfoliating, it’s all about adding lots of moisture. Like I shared before, I’ve become addicted to Glossier’s Balm Dotcoms, thanks to all the great flavors and shades they come in.
PRIMERS AND FOUNDATIONS: Another way to add a little extra hydration into your daily routine is with your primers and foundations. For winter, I always make sure to start with First Aid Beauty Hello FAB Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer before adding my foundation. Not only does it smell incredible, it instantly hydrates my skin and helps blend my foundation more easily. I love a lightweight foundation and my recent favorite is It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better™ CC+ Cream with SPF 50+ that is so light but still gives amazing coverage. All you need is a swipe of bronzer (Laura Geller’s Baked Body Frosting is a must!) and you are ready to go!
