Winter is upon us! Once the temperatures drop to freezing cold here in New York, it can be hard to convince friends (and yourself!) to leave the apartment. However, there are so many cute spots around the city that are ideal for a cozy meal or drink, that its worth the chilly (and sometimes snowy) trek! Today I’m sharing some of my favorite spots around New York City to get warm and cozy in.
Don’t miss my NYC Holiday Bar Guide!
WHERE TO GET COZY IN NYC THIS WINTER
Freeman’s
Tucked in on Freeman’s Alley in the Lower East Side (just beyond the East Village), this gorgeous restaurant feels like you’re stepping into a chic cabin in the woods. From the taxidermy to leather seats and wood paneling the cozy vibes are off the charts. Plus they serve strong cocktails and their menu items feature comforting Southern dishes.
Margaux at The Marlton Hotel
If you’re looking to escape the cold weather with a cocktail in hand, head to this Greenwich Village hotel. An array of velvet and leather furniture are all tucked around a roaring fireplace, such a relaxed spot to catch up with friends.

The Waverly Inn
This is definitely one of those classic NYC dining experiences! Whether you’re just grabbing a drink by the fireplace bar or dining in the back heated garden, this is the perfect place to bring parents or have a romantic date night. I also love their brunch!
Anfora
This cozy wine bar is a favorite spot for first dates thanks to its great cheese board selection, small plates, and cozy seating. It’s the ideal spot to escape the cold weather and if you decide to go to another bar or restaurant after, you’re in close walking distance to a ton of other local favorites.
Sel Rose
One of the best parts of Sel Rrose is that its right next to the J Train aka, you don’t need to walk far! It’s one of my favorite spots to cozy up and snack on truffle fries and oysters and enjoy Instagram-worthy cocktails.
Aria
Aria has been my go-to since I moved to NYC! From the quaint space, delicious dishes and indulgent pasta, this is my favorite spot to warm up at in the West Village. They also have a location in Midtown that is larger and perfect to go to before or after a Broadway show.
The Bar Room at The Beekman Hotel
This hotel bar has become a favorite neighborhood spot because of the incredible décor and perfectly crafted cocktails. It’s a must-visit spot for impressing out of town guests or celebrating with friends.
Tiny’s
How cute is this place? This little pink building in Tribeca is snug and cozy inside, serving healthy dishes and amazing cocktails by a pretty fireplace.
Marlow & Sons
If you find yourself in Williamsburg and want to spend the afternoon eating and drinking, this is your place. Snug seating, savory meals and craft cocktails – this is an ideal spot for a relaxing day.
La Mercerie
After a long day of shopping in Soho, head to this impeccably decorated spot for a coffee (or hot chocolate!) and pastry. Attached to the Roman and Williams Guild home store and filled with unique design pieces, the large café features blue velvet booths, a flower shop and marble tables. An Instagram worthy spot to warm up in (also featured in And Just Like That!)

The Smile
When walking down the cobblestone Bond Street, make sure not to miss this favorite spot that serves farm fresh meals inside a cozy, dimly lit space.
I’m always so impressed with your ability to find trendy and adorable NYC spots. Definitely going to reference this post throughout the chillier months!
