I’m so excited to share my first apartment reveal and today it’s all about my gallery wall! Putting together this gallery wall was a process! I was determined to not break the bank but still have pieces I loved and had special meaning behind them. This is such a happy place for me to work by each day and I’m so excited to share all of my sources and tips for finding affordable art for your own gallery wall!
WHERE TO BUY AFFORDABLE ART FOR YOUR GALLERY WALL
Etsy
Etsy is my favorite source for finding just about anything you have in mind. From original artwork to recreations of favorite pieces, I found so many things for my room via Etsy. One favorite find was when I was scrolling through vintage matchbooks (one of the many things I collect!) and I found matchbooks from my great grandpa’s restaurant, Bill Knapp’s, from the 80’s! I glued it to a piece of white card stock and framed it in a simple frame and it was the perfect sentimental piece to add!
Thrift and Antique Shops
Whether in search of art or frames, searching your local thrift and antique shops can be a fun adventure. There’s so many hidden treasures, and at great pieces, so always recommend taking the time to dig through! If you’re in Williamsburg, my favorite is Dobbin Street Vintage Co-Op! It changes weekly and so many fun finds.
Local Boutiques and Instagram
More than ever, it’s so important to support small businesses. A lot of the prints I found exploring Instagram and local boutiques, such as this matchbook print
Make Your Own!
A few of the pieces in my room I did myself! I mentioned my framed matchbook but I also framed one of my needlepoint projects. I LOVED how it turned out and Framebridge made it really easy to get the perfect frame for it. They can frame just about everything and it’s a really cool way to commemorate a special item.
Splurge On Special Pieces
I also wanted to share I think it’s important too to splurge on special pieces too! I have loved this Jennifer Ament print for years and knew it would make me so happy to see on my wall everyday! I also knew the Samsung Frame TV was the perfect mix of functionality and art that I wanted for more space. Art is something you will have for years to come so buy pieces that you really love!
