I still can’t believe a week from today I’ll already be back in Michigan for Thanksgiving! This time of year always seems to sneak up on us, which means I am usually panicking on what to wear as well. So today I wanted to focus on outfits you can easily pull together with pieces you already have in your closet, or order before its too late! Most importantly, dressing on Thanksgiving is all about comfort, so I’ve rounded up pieces that are both chic and cozy for a day full of eating with family and friends.
COZY SWEATERS: A cozy sweater is key for this time of year. Whether paired with your favorite pair of jeans or with a skirt (a favorite way to dress up my sweaters this fall), you’re guaranteed to feel comfortable all day long. My favorites this fall have been this extra soft Mango crew, the softest striped sweater from Blair Eadie’s Halogen collab, my all time favorite J. Crew turtleneck and Everlane’s incredible cashmere and alpaca sweaters.
FALL FLORALS: I love dark floral prints for the fall and when looking for a more dressy look for Turkey Day, this is a favorite pattern of mine. I’ve shared my obsession for this H&M dress (under $35!) many times before, but also love this dress and skirt too to wear with heels or over the knee boots.
LEATHER AND SUEDE LEGGINGS: For a day dedicated around eating, finding a chic version of stretchy pants is a must. I love pairing leggings, like my favorite Spanx Leather Leggings or Old Navy Suede Leggings, with a more oversized sweater to help balance out the tight bottoms.
SLIP ON MULES: For a day spent mostly indoors, it’s important to be in comfortable shoes that you can easily take on and off. These faux-fur slides I’ve worn almost everyday since getting them in the mail and keep your feet warm even in the cold weather.
OUTERWEAR FOR ALL OCCASSIONS: Traveling during the colder seasons can be tough on narrowing down which coat to bring so that’s why I rely on one that works for all occasions. My J. Crew Chateau Parka is my number one everyday coat and usually my go-to when traveling. I also love wearing a chic faux fur, like this gorgeous House of Harlow 1960 leopard one I just bought or this classic tan Mango fur, to wear even with the most casual look.
