A few weeks ago I headed upstate to the Inns Of Aurora in Aurora, New York with Allie and Carter! We had the most relaxing stay and wanted to share more about this gorgeous place if looking for a unique weekend getaway!

TRAVEL GUIDE: INNS OF AURORA
HOW TO GET THERE
Inns of Aurora is it’s own town called the Village of Aurora, which is located on Cayuga Lake in upstate New York. There are five Inns of Aurora—along with a farm-to-table restaurant, casual pub, village market, wellness & activities center, and demonstration kitchen. It’s a charming story book place and a perfect escape from our busy lives!
Allie has a car so we drove directly there from the city (about four and a half hours) and it was an easy drive. It was great also having a car there as we did some mini road trips to nearby towns as well!

HOTEL AMENITIES
Like I shared, the hotel is made up of five different inns. Each inn has it’s own innkeeper and different design style. We stayed in the Rowland House, where we enjoyed daily wine and cheese hour on the porch, s’mores by the water and cozy fires in the living room.
On the property, there are three restaurants and we had some of the best meals while dining there! You can also plan a night in the test kitchen with one of the chefs. For mornings where you just want a quick bite, there is also a cute market to grab snacks and coffee from.

WHAT TO DO
ACTIVITIES
On the property, you can choose to participate in many activities such as nature walks, paddleboarding, kayaking, yoga, art classes and more! We decided to do something different and try our hand at archery! We had a private instructor and had so much fun learning a new activity that we never would have done before!
VISIT MACKENZIE-CHILDS
Aurora is also the home of Mackenzie-Childs so we drove to their nearby store to walk around the grounds and do some shopping! Unfortunately, they were closed for renovations when we arrived but we were still able to walk around and take in the gorgeous area.
ROAD TRIP TO SKANEATELES
About a 45 minute drive from Aurora is an adorable town called Skaneateles. We decided to have lunch and do some shopping one afternoon so made the quick drive over. The charming downtown is located on the water and we had a cozy lunch at the The Sherwood Inn. From there, we explored and popped in adorable shops such as Skaneatles300, Emma + James, The Local Branch and Drooz + Company. Highly recommend planning a visit to this charming area!
VISIT THE WINERIES
The Finger Lakes region is known for their wineries so we made sure to stop for a glass while driving back to the Inn! We chose Anyela’s Vineyards which has a gorgeous outdoor setup that looks over the vineyards and water. We had a great time trying a few different wines, sitting in the sun and catching up with a friend of mine who lives nearby!
