I always fall in love with New York all over again when spring rolls around. From the warm weather, outdoor dining and being able to walk around everywhere, it almost makes you forget about the cold weather we had to deal with for so many months!
Another favorite part about spring is the abundance in fresh flowers everywhere. This year in particular, it seems that almost street corner and store front is covered with over the top displays and I am not complaining! Today, I’m rounding up my go-to spots around the city to go soak up everything floral before the summer heat wave rolls in!
Flower District: As I’ve shared before, my ultimate spot for flower overload is the flower district, located on 28th Street and 6th Avenue. Get there early in the morning with your coffee and spend time going through all the different store fronts and stocking up on bunches of blooms.
Washington Square Park: Nothing beats a Saturday walking around the city and stopping to hang out in Washington Square Park. This time of year, the cherry blossoms are in the full effect so it’s the ideal spot for a photo with out of town visitors.
Union Square Greenmarket: Another favorite weekend activity is walking around the farmers market and stocking up on fresh produce and of course, fresh blooms. I love coming here for the over the top bushels of my favorites, lilacs and peonies.
Hill House Home: I recently shot some photos here because I couldn’t resist the gorgeous all white window display. Luckily, these are fake flowers so will be up hopefully for a few more weeks (so get your Instagram photo in now!)
Sezane: Another Insta-worthy hot spot right now is the store front of Sezane. Head here early too as it becomes super crowded with shoppers throughout the day.
Local Bodegas: For a bouquet on the go (and for a great price), nothing beats the local bodegas. Always filled with fresh flowers, it’s the perfect spot to buy someone (or yourself!) a pretty pick me up.
Those blooms are gorgeous! Washington Square Park looks like a wonderland. Enjoy! xAllie
