Summer beauty for me is all about sun protection, glowy skin and keeping my hair and makeup from sweating off! With the heat beginning to rise, I wanted to share some of my favorite products I can’t live without in the summer and the best beauty tips I’ve learned to keep yourself looking and feeling fresh all day.
SKINCARE
Supergoop! Everday Sunscreen: I started using this sunscreen this past March while in Florida and love how light it is and doesn’t make my skin feel greasy at all. Perfect for layering on everyday whether you’re just walking around town or at the beach. I also LOVE their Shimmershade Illuminating Cream Eyeshadows that give you the best subtle shimmer and protect your eyes too with SPF.
St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse: When you need to get tan ASAP, this is my favorite (and the easiest) way to get a glow. Make sure to use the mitt to help blend and avoid streaks!
Follain Sugar & Shea Body Scrub: A key to smooth skin for summer is exfoliating and I love how easy this all natural one is to use to buff away dry skin. Make sure to always use a scrub like this before using self-tanner!
Dry Brush: Another favorite way to get extra smooth skin in the summer is using a dry brush. Use this a few times a week before you shower to help brush away dead and dry skin, improve circulation and minimize cellulite.
Ice Roller: I always am raving about the ice roller and there’s no better time to get one than the summer. Depuff and cool down in an instant, this is the best tool for making your skin look rested and lifted.
Garnier Skinactive Cleansing Towelettes: I always make sure to keep these in my gym bag to wipe down with after a sweaty workout class and keep my skin from breaking out.
MAKEUP AND NAILS
IT COSMETICS CC+ Cream with SPF 50+: I talk about this CC+ Cream all year long because it truly is the best for coverage without feeling cakey, which is so important in the summer. Plus it has SPF 50 so can’t beat that!
Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow Face Primer: On no-makeup days, I love wearing this alone for the dewiest and prettiest natural glow. Also looks great layered under or on top of foundation for the perfect summer shimmer.
Essie Gel Couture Polish in Flashed: Pretty much this color stays on my nails from May to September. It’s the perfect red-orange and love how it pops with a tan.
HAIR
Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo: How did we live before dry shampoo?! On a hot sweaty day, this is my favorite dry shampoo to perk up my hair and make it look extra fresh. Blends super well which is always so hard for brunettes to find in a dry shampoo.
Glamsquad Untamed Texturizing Finishing Spray: I always struggled with texture sprays because they made my hair feel too stiff or crunchy but this one from Glamsquad’s new hair product line is light while still giving volume and the perfect amount of beachy texture.
OUAI Hair Oil: On days when it’s too hot to blowdry my hair, I love doing a slicked back ponytail or low bun with this delicious smelling oil that leaves my hair slick and smooth, but not greasy.
Headband: Sometimes you just need to pull your hair back and add a cute headband to give yourself a good hair day and this Etsy find looks exactly like the Lele Sadoughi that everyone has for such a steal.
