Paris Winter Packing List
I’ve been lucky enough to travel multiple times to Paris with my friend Meghan (who always puts together the most incredible itinerary!) It’s always a treat to visit Paris in the off season with a Paris pro for the week, getting lost and exploring more local spots.
Winter is a surprisingly wonderful time to visit Paris, with fewer crowds, easier dinner reservations, and plenty of excuses to cozy up with a cup of chocolat chaud! Plus, if you’re visiting in December, the holiday decorations in Paris make the city feel especially magical. When it comes to creating a Paris in winter packing list, I always focus on timeless, versatile staples that are easy to layer for cold weather, mixed with a few statement pieces —like feathers or a touch of sparkle — for evenings out. Cozy fabrics like merino wool and cashmere, polished outerwear, and warm layers are essential for staying comfortable while walking the streets of Paris.
PARIS WINTER PACKING LIST
1. Mango Belted Wool Coat
A wool winter coat is a must pack to survive the chilly weather in Paris. This winter coat is the perfect weight for winter, and of course — black goes with everything. Don’t forget to pack a winter beanie and cashmere scarf for extra chilly days!
2. VERONICA BEARD WOOL BLAZER
A classic black blazer with gold buttons is one of the most versatile pieces you can pack for Paris, and Veronica Beard makes some of the best. Layer it over sweaters or turtlenecks during the day, then wear it over a dress for evenings out. It’s polished, classic, and perfect for that effortless French girl style.
3. intimissimi layering turtleneck
This thin cashmere turtleneck is a layering essential. It adds warmth without bulk and works under blazers, sweaters, and even dresses. If you’re wondering what to wear in Paris in winter — lightweight layers like this truly make all the difference.

These pants have been my go-to travel pants for years (I also wore them so much in London!). They’re universally flattering and instantly make you feel chic and pulled together. Perfect to wear in Paris! The Abercrombie Sloane Trousers are also a great option and come in a wide array of colors and both tall and short sizes.

When in Paris, you must pack at least one absolutely fabulous outfit! This feather top pairs beautifully with satin trousers and a bit of sparkle for a girl’s night in Paris!
6. quince striped cardigan
Striped in Paris are classic for a reason. This bell sleeve cardigan is cozy, timeless, and easy to layer over turtlenecks or tees (plus it’s under $160!) This is one of those pieces you’ll reach for again and again throughout the trip.
7. Gap Vegan Suede Slouchy Tote
This slouchy suede tote under $100 is such a great carry-all for running around Paris! The fact that you can pack this flat in your suitcase makes it perfect for travel. I bought this last year and it has been a workhorse in my fall and winter wardrobe.
8. adidas sambas sneakers
Comfortable walking shoes are key for Paris, and Adidas Sambas strike the perfect balance between stylish and comfortable. They’re great for long days on your feet and look chic with trousers, coats, and layered winter outfits. This green pair is a favorite of mine, and how fun are these navy Sambas?
9. Nordstrom leather touchscreen gloves
Cold weather accessories should be at the top of your Paris in winter packing list. Leather tech gloves keep your hands warm while still letting you use your phone for snapping pics and checking directions. These ones are under $100 and très chic! If you really want to make a statement, these appliqué gloves are such a fun pick.

This petite suede bag is the chicest accessory for a night out in Paris! I love a suede bag for winter, and this one is elegant, sleek, and versatile.
