With most of us spending time in leggings and sweats these days, I wanted to share some classic pieces that can help upgrade your WFH wardrobe now and that will be staples in your closet for years to come. The looks I shared above were shot before quarantine, including some even shot last spring, and they are still wardrobe essentials I reach for every day. Whether dressing down now or dressing up hopefully soon, here are five spring wardrobe favorites!
5 Wardrobe Essentials:
1. DENIM JACKET
My most worn item during the spring is a denim jacket. Maybe it’s the Midwest in me, but I always have to have a jacket with me in the spring in case the temperatures drop. I love a classic blue denim jacket but also love a white one too when wearing blue jeans, like this Everlane style in Bone. My go-to these days for warmer days has been wearing a t-shirt dress and then throwing a denim jacket over. Easy, comfortable and classic!
2. WHITE TEE
Finding the perfect white t-shirt takes some time but once you find the perfect one, stock up! My favorite is the Everlane Cotton Crew as it’s the ideal weight and easy to wear on its own or layered under a sweater or jacket. It also comes in a ton of colors so stock up in other classics like black, navy and tan as well!
3. MATCHING LOUNGE SET
A must-have item that I don’t see going away anytime soon is a matching lounge set. I shared some of my loungewear favorites in this post, and while even though still in sweats, it looks so much more pulled together than mismatched items. My Lou & Grey set is my ultimate favorite (I own in three colors) and also love the Naadam cashmere set for a more luxe look.
4. HIGH WAISTED DENIM
A great pair of high waisted denim is a classic that never goes out of style. I prefer a high waist and cropped ankle like this Everlane pair, that can be easily dressed up or dressed down.
5. LEATHER SNEAKERS
One of my favorite ways to stay comfortable but still look stylish is a pair of leather sneakers. I love wearing them with a dress, jeans or sweats and when walking around the city, you need to know your feet will be comfortable all day. I wore this pair for our sixteen mile walk through the city last week and my feet still felt great after!
