NYC summer’s are no joke and hot, hot, hot! The best way to cool down of course is with a delicious ice cream cone from one of New York’s many ice cream shops around the city. From crazy cones to unique flavors, these are the eight spots you can’t miss when visiting New York City this summer.
Emack & Bolio’s: Known for their insane waffle cones coated in everything from fruity pebbles to rice krispy treats to Oreo’s, this Upper East Side ice cream shop is the perfect place to stop (and Instagram) after a day in Central Park.
KITH Treats: If you’re heading to Brooklyn, turn your breakfast into dessert at this cereal centered spot. The first NYC cereal shop, you can turn any of your favorite cereals into soft-serve, making it the most delicious mix ever.
Chikalicious: I can’t resist a churro, and when Chikalicious made into an ice cream cone, I was there in a flash. This cinnamon pastry cone gives you the best of both worlds, a flaky pastry and creamy ice cream.
Morgenstern’s: With it’s old school soda shop feel, Morgenstern’s is anything but old school with its unique flavors, such as Salt & Pepper Pinenut, Burnt Honey Vanilla and Banana Curry. They also have began a tradition of celebrating Kayne West’s birthday all week long in June with Kayne themed sundaes and flavors, creating hour long lines for the limited edition flavors.
Davey’s Ice Cream: If you’re in the mood for a classic sundae, nothing beats a Brownie Sundae from Davey’s or one of their delicious scoops, all handmade on site.
Van Leeuwen: Even though I love all the crazy ice cream in the city, my all-time favorite ice cream though is the Honeycomb ice cream from Van Leeuwen. And if you’re vegan, they also offer many vegan and lactose free flavors to make sure everyone satisfies their sugar craving.
Eggloo: One of the most Instagrammable ice creams in NYC right now can be found in Chinatown at Eggloo. These Hong Kong egg waffles are filled with giant scoops of ice cream and as many toppings are you want, creating one crazy and delicious cone!
