Bagels are a classic New York City staple and one of my favorite ways to start a busy work day or a lazy Saturday. There’s nowhere else in the world that makes bagels as perfect as New York, and every New Yorker seems to have a favorite bagel shop! I’ve shared a few of my NYC food guides over on Glitter Guide, and today, I’m going to begin sharing them here as well, to help you find all the best meals around the city!
Russ & Daughters: For a classic Jewish bagel and lox, the bagel board is a must at Russ & Daughters. Or if you’re short on time, grab bagels to go from its store down the street.
Tompkins Square Bagels: Tompkins has become famous for its fun cream cheese flavors like Birthday Cake and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, but I prefer the savory breakfast sandwiches to fill me up for a busy Saturday!
Sadelle’s: New to the NYC bagel scene, Sadelle’s has quickly grown to be a hot spot for brunch and bagels before a day of shopping in SoHo. Also, if you decide to grab bagels to go, Sadelle’s chic packaging is an extra bonus!
Ess-a-Bagel: Hit up this popular Midtown bagel shop early in the morning (before the line gets crazy!) to give you fuel for a day of touring NYC landmarks like Rockefeller Center, or as a snack while enjoying Central Park.
Black Seed: One of my favorite places to get a bagel sandwich, Black Seed makes bagels that are boiled in honey water for extra sweetness! My favorite sandwich? This insanely savory-and-sweet everything bagel with maple-baked ham, Gruyère, onion jam and sour pickles.
Pick A Bagel: Even though Pick A Bagel has multiple locations around the city, my favorites are the uptown locations, which are conveniently located a few blocks away from Central Park. I love grabbing a bagel and a coffee on the weekend before heading to the park to people watch and eat!
