One of my favorite traditions every year is our annual Friendsgiving with our group of friends here in New York. While this year will be much smaller and different than years past, it still can be stressful planning a holiday event for your friends. Whether you’re hosting a small get together or doing over Zoom this year, I’m sharing my top tips for hosting a stress free Friendsgiving so you can enjoy the night too!
HOW TO HOST A STRESS FREE FRIENDSGIVING:
Rent Your Decor
One of the best discoveries for me this year has been Social Studies. When I found out about this amazing company, I knew they would become my go-to for all special nights moving forward. You can choose from a ton of different styles and tablescapes on their site and then everything is delivered to you! From decor to dinner plates, it makes every party feel super special without the stress of buying new things or figuring out where to store everything. Once the party is over, you just pack it up and UPS picks it up! I shared more on my Instagram today but they are currently doing a collaboration with Campo Viejo Wines on a limited edition set that includes wine as well! You can also get 20% off three bottles with code SOCIAL so truly the best way to BYOB!
Split Roles
One of the best ways to keep the night stress fee is splitting roles. From who’s in charge of certain dishes, decor or the drinks, make a Google Doc for everyone to sign up and keep the night from moving smoothly!
Have It Catered!
To keep things COVID safe this year, a great option (especially in bigger cities) is to have it catered! Most grocery stores or restaurants have great Thanksgiving packages these days and it makes it much easier to get everything from one spot and then Venmo everyone evenly. This is also a great way to support so many of the local restaurants in your area who were affected by COVID.
Prep Your Playlist And Enjoy The Night!
I believe the perfect playlist is the best way to set the mood of any party. Have one ready to go before guests arrive so you don’t have to worry about the music throughout the night. Some of my favorite party playlists on my Spotify are my Happy Playlist and my Motown Playlist. Just press play and let the fun begin!
