HOW TO FIND THE BEST HEALTH INSURANCE AS SELF-EMPLOYED
Thank you to Impact Health Sharing for sponsoring this post!
One of the scariest parts about becoming self-employed last year was figuring out my health insurance. Not only is it extremely overwhelming and sometimes confusing, health insurance as a small business owner is crazy expensive. That’s why I’m excited to share more about Impact Health Sharing today as it is a tool I wish I had when researching the best plans for myself almost two years ago!
If you’re not familiar, Impact Health Sharing is a not for profit organization. It is a member centric program that focuses on members and not profits. In fact, they just GAVE BACK to their members portions of their monthly shares that totaled $281,260. This program is designed for sharing medical expenses associated with new conditions related to illness, injury or accident.
To participate, members contribute a monthly share amount that is applied to the eligible medical bills of other members. The monthly share amount is based on the age of the oldest member in the household, the number of people applying (1, 2, 3, or more), and choice of Primary Responsibility Amount.
Impact delivers a modern and affordable alternative to health insurance, making it affordable for individuals and families. Plans start as low as $65 for individuals and $330 for families. They have designed pricing options for individuals and families as well as special prices for seniors so truly anyone at any age can find a plan that works for them.
Another great part of Impact Health Sharing is that it isn’t just for catastrophic and emergency needs. Their members experience a comprehensive medical experience and access to routine & preventative care, mental health care, prescription discounts, and free telemedicine available 24/7, which is so important during this time.
One of my biggest frustrations with my health insurance has been the limited doctors and offices I can visit. Thankfully with Impact, members see any doctor they want nationwide. There are no network fees and this most importantly means more choices and lower costs.
Finally, what is so important is that Impact is an ethics-based community that is open to anyone interested in sharing, acting responsibly together, and saving on healthcare, regardless of religious beliefs. I am someone who takes pride in putting my health first. From eating healthy meals as much as I can, getting in daily exercise from walks around the neighborhood or dance cardio classes to getting my daily water and vitamin intake in. Even though I work hard at keeping myself healthy, making sure I have the access to great doctors and care is so important. Staying up to date on doctor and other health appointments is key in staying healthy. Having resources like Impact Health Sharing gives me the confidence to know I can stay up to date on those important health appointments and have them there if anything goes wrong. To a healthy year ahead!
