The lights are shimmering and the champagne is flowing – holiday season is in full swing here in New York City! One of my favorite things about the holidays are all the fun opportunities to dress up. The holidays are the perfect excuse to wear your most fancy clothes and experiment with different outfits and colors! Curating your holiday outfits can help you look stylish at every gathering – from office parties, to house parties, to casual Christmas parties with friends.
Today I’m sharing a round up of favorite holiday outfit ideas from this year and years past to help give you ideas for different dress codes and occasions, from fancy to low-key.

15 HOLIDAY OUTFIT IDEAS

1. Sequin Maxi Skirt
I wore this holiday outfit last year to see the New York City Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker and it was perfect for the occasion! Festive, elegant, and still comfortable. This sequin maxi skirt looks similar — I like mine paired with a black turtleneck but you could also pair with a chunky sweater.

2. Plaid Dress and Platform Heels
Another dress I have on repeat this Christmas is this plaid Ophelia Dress from Hill House. I love the bright and bold plaid print, plus the cut is so flattering. Sadly it’s sold out, but keep an eye out as they may bring it back next season! I think this plaid dress (similarly from Hill House) is also SO fun! Pair with velvet platform heels for a fun and flirty look.

3. Black Sequins
This black monochromatic look look is perfect for a more casual occasion – perhaps an office holiday party happening during the work day? Pair a black sequin button-up shirt with faux leather pants for a sleek (but still festive) look. I think these many years old Kate Spade slingback pumps with a champagne cork in the heel (!!) perfectly complete the look.

4. Red Sequins
Clearly I have a thing for monochromatic looks around the holidays, but how fun is this all over red sequin look? One of my favorite party outfits! More red sequin pieces that caught my eye include this dress, this midi skirt, and this mini dress!

5. Gold Sequin Dress
Let’s round it out with gold sequins! Sadly this Ann Taylor dress is a couple seasons old, but I’m obsessed with this SAIL to Sable x Style Charade sequin dress. It’s so perfect for the holiday season!

6. Burgundy Dress
Burgundy, merlot, and cranberry are such gorgeous colors for the winter season, even beyond the holidays. This silk mini dress and this long sleeve dress both caught my eyes in similar shades.

7. Velvet Dress
You truly can’t go wrong with velvet at the holidays! It’s one of my favorite fabrics to break out when the Christmas decorations start going up. This velvet puff sleeve mini dress and this figure flattering midi dress are both showstoppers!

8. Silver Dress
A silver dress is such a great holiday party outfit and also just as festive for New Year’s Eve! This is a great option under $50 and I’m obsessed with the fringe details on this dress.

9. Monochromatic Red Outfit
I think pairing a red sweater with a red slip skirt is the perfect holiday outfit for a casual get together or Christmas dinner with your family. Plus both pieces can be repurposed for different outfits throughout the year. We love pieces that do double duty! You can recreate this outfit in any color.

10. Plaid Nap Dress
I love that the Hill House Nap Dress has become a year-round item. It’s lightweight, breezy, and so comfortable. Perfect for the holidays in a warm weather climate, but you can also layer over a turtleneck and tights if you need added warmth.

11. Red Dress and Black Heels
Red and black is a winning combination at the holidays. I think a red mini dress paired with the Sarah Flint Perfect Pump is a chic and classic look for a work holiday party. These heels are the most comfortable, perfect for being on your feet all day and night.

12. Sherpa or faux fur Coat and Faux Leather Pants
For a true cozy and casual look, layer an oversized faux fur coat over faux leather pants. I love this look for running errands, meeting up with friends for a festive Christmas decorations walk, or catching up with friends from home over a gingerbread latte.

13. Sequin Midi Skirt
A sequin midi skirt can be paired with a turtleneck, oversized sweater, or tank – depending on the dress code and environment. I find myself reaching for a sequin midi skirt year after year, it’s become a holiday season staple. This one and this wrap skirt are both fun.

14. Black Dress
A classic black dress is great for all seasons, but especially the holidays. I’m a sucker for anything with an open back! This velvet embellished dress, this feather dress, and this A-line dress would all be versatile black dresses for the season.

15. Cable Knit Sweater
For the most casual (and cozy!) occasions, a chunky knit sweater is just the ticket. I’ve been pairing a cable-knit sweater with my new favorite stirrup leggings all season!

Great holiday post . I hope there is availability when I shop🤞🏻
