The return of Fall means the return of blazer season, one of my favorite fall staples! For a lot of us the weather is still transitioning so for those times when it’s not quite chilly enough for a jacket, layering on a blazer or cropped jacket is a great way to add warmth and style to your outfit. Now is the perfect time to take stock of your blazer and jacket inventory and update your blazer outfits for the current season. Today I’m sharing a roundup of blazer outfit ideas you can wear throughout the fall and winter.
8 FALL BLAZER OUTFIT IDEAS

1. Black Blazer and Mini Skirt
Is she in Paris or NYC?! This chic little cropped black jacket is one of my favorite finds of the season! One of my new favorite ways to wear a blazer is with a mini skort, so this coordinated matching set from ba&sh was right up my alley. Plus, you can wear the jacket on its own paired with jeans for a more casual look. My favorite sunnies and Chanel purse complete the look. Check out more Parisian inspired fall fashion ideas.

2. Red Blazer and Wide Leg Denim
This tweed Veronica Beard jacket is just too good, I love the pop of color! Pairing a blazer with wide leg denim is definitely on trend this season. I love that this look is professional enough for the office but still fun enough for date night! These J.Crew denim trousers have quickly become one of my favorite pairs of jeans.

3. Oversized Tweed Blazer and Cropped Jeans
A tweed blazer is a fall wardrobe staple. This slightly oversized tweed blazer under $150 is a great steal. For a slightly different silhouette, I love this cropped tweed jacket as well. Pair with my favorite cropped jeans to complete the look!

4. Pinstripe Blazer and Graphic Tee
This mix of high and low is one of my favorite ways to style a blazer. Pair a navy or pinstripe blazer with a graphic tee to add a bit of personality! I love this look for a more casual office environment or for going out with friends. Pairing a graphic tee with a simple slip skirt is also a favorite summer to fall transition outfit.

5. Matching Blazer and Pants Power Suit
I love a coordinated matching set, there really is nothing like a power suit in a bold color to make you feel extra confident! Get a similar look by pairing this red blazer and matching red suit pants. If red isn’t your color, this royal blue blazer with matching pants is stunning! I think J.Crew has some fantastic women’s suits and a colorful blazer adds a little something extra!

6. Pink Blazer and Pearl Accessories
This pink blazer with a pearl barrette is giving Elle Woods in 2023 and I’m obsessed with it! This light pink blazer is so gorgeous, if you like something more vibrant I think this magenta blazer is fun. This pearl embellished headband, these pearl claw clips, or these pearl barrettes are just super girly and fun. This pearl bucket bag would also be darling for a pink blazer outfit. For a little extra oomph, a crop top underneath would be cute!

7. Neutral Blazer and Jeans
A neutral, light gray, or white blazer paired with jeans is both classic and seasonless. This creamy neutral Veronica Beard blazer is a great choice. As alternatives to a classic blazer silhouette, I also love this white tweed jacket and this sweater blazer. Camel is another great neutral for fall, I think this camel blazer is so versatile. By keeping a neutral color palette you can mix and match with tons of other pieces already in your wardrobe. Above, I layered over my favorite white tee and Everlane jeans.

8. Patterned Blazer
I love a little pattern play! For the fall I’m really loving plaid blazers. I have my eye on this classic plaid blazer with gold buttons, this cropped plaid jacket (hello Annie Parker vibes), and this more casual plaid blazer jacket.
How to Style Blazers for Fall
Think About Fabric
When picking a blazer this fall, pay attention to the fabric. Fabrics like linen or linen blends are more suited to warm summer days. For the fall and winter I recommend reaching for wool or wool blend blazers for a bit of added warmth. Also, consider the difference in look, texture, and feel of a classic suit jacket verses a blazer.
Consider the Fit
There are a wide range of blazer styles on the market right now! Think about the type of fit that will be most flattering and versatile. Whereas in years past blazers used to be on one end of the size spectrum (either extremely oversized or extremely fitted), in 2023 I find blazers with just a slightly oversized fit feel the most modern and allow me to mix and match with the most items in my wardrobe.
Cover Your Bases
When it comes to color, I find it most helpful to have at least a black, navy, and cream blazer in my rotation. These basic neutrals should cover just about any outfit!
Have Fun!
Blazers are certainly not just for the office any more. You can pair a blazer with leather pants, over a midi dress, or even with a mini skirt! From date night to girl’s night to weekend brunch – blazers can be a versatile element of your wardrobe and an easy way to instantly feel polished!
