Hello fall! It’s officially fall in NYC and these chilly temps and rainy days have me in the mood for some fall shopping! If you’ve been following along for a while, you know I absolutely love a fun pop of color. While neutral colors typically reign supreme in fall fashion, I think when it comes to fall clothing there are no rules. You don’t have to stick to just neutrals!
If you’re looking to build a colorful capsule wardrobe for fall, or just looking for some colorful tops and bottoms to add to your wardrobe, I’ve got you covered! Today I’m sharing ten colorful pieces to wear this fall to help you feel good and brighten up those darker days.
10 COLORFUL CAPSULE WARDROBE PIECES FOR FALL
I got this STAUD sweater last spring (as seen above on my trip to Nantucket) and it’s been on rotation since then. It’s an oversized fit (I’m wearing an XS so size down) which I think makes it extra cozy. This year, STAUD made the sweater in a cropped silhouette also here.
A pink blazer is the prettiest pop of color to add to your fall wardrobe. And the matching pants or matching mini skirt would be so chic to take from the office to a night out! This hot pink blazer is also a show stopper. More fall blazer outfit inspiration.
For fall workouts, skip the black and white options and infuse some color with this navy and red set! This tank would also be cute with the leggings. For something brighter, I think this Beyond Yoga top with an open back is also such a fun color, pair with the matching leggings.
My jaw dropped when I saw this dress in stunning citron. I also love the pink version. Between the midi length and feather cuff sleeves, this dress is colorful perfection!
This cropped cardigan with gold buttons feels so on-trend for this fall and I’m just obsessed with this pink color palette! Layer over a white tee and pair with jeans and sneakers. Other English Factory picks that caught my eye include this color block zipped pullover under $100, this short sleeve sweater, and this pastel open weave knit cardigan.
Looking to make a statement at your next fall wedding? This cherry red dress is one of my favorite colors to wear. It’s so stunning and would be super chic with a matching red lip. More fall wedding guest dress ideas.
Talk about a statement piece! This colorful puffer under $200 feels like it would be the perfect antidote for cold and dreary fall days. I would style with jeans and high top Converse sneakers.
I love this lilac sweater with beautiful pearl beading around the neckline. It’s so delicate and feminine. If patterns aren’t your thing, & Other Stories has some great solid color options like this chunky knit sweater in vibrant green and this crewneck sweater in pastel pink.
I love a classic sweater pattern with a twist! You can also shop it here. This would be a great sweater to wear from fall well into winter. It reminds me of this green Barbour sweater that’s also super cute and colorful.
I own this cropped sweater lady jacket in Kelly green and it’s one of my favorite new items of clothing! (See how I styled it here!) It also comes in vibrant fuchsia which is so fun. With a solid color sweater, I think it’s easier to mix and match – pair it with jeans, trousers, or skirts.

Colorful Striped Long Sleeve Dress
This Kate Spade shift dress is one of my favorites, it’s just so fun and happy! I’m loving the rainbow color trend. I love that the long sleeves mean I can wear it into fall.
Colorful Power Suit
I love a coordinated matching set, there really is nothing like a power suit in a bold color to make you feel extra confident! Get a similar look by pairing this red blazer and matching red suit pants. If red isn’t your color, this royal blue blazer with matching pants is stunning! I think J.Crew has some fantastic women’s suits and a colorful blazer adds a little something extra!
