Oh what a year it was for my passport! 2023 was my busiest travel year to date and I got to visit so many incredible new places, as well as return to some favorite spots. Along with recapping an amazing year, I’m excited to share my 2024 travel plans!
Now let’s take a look back at my travel memory lane…
A LOOK BACK AT MY 2023 TRAVELS
My first travel of 2023 was to Grand Cayman! This was a new to me spot and one of the best trips thanks to lots of sunshine, great food and lots of girl time. Two of my best friends and I planned this as a last minute girls getaway and I’m so thrilled we did. It was the ideal way to start the new year feeling refreshed and relaxed (and with a tan!)
For February, I headed back to one of my favorite cities, Paris! Only my second time visiting, this trip felt completely different than my first time in October 2019 as I had Meghan, the Paris pro, to show me everything! We also headed to Bordeaux for a few magical days at Les Sources de Caudalie (Beyonce and Jay Z just rented it out this month!). If you’re heading to France this year, Meghan is your girl for all the things but sharing my past guides below as well!
March was mainly spent home in NYC but our friend group of 12 did escape for a relaxing weekend on Marco Island at our friends parents home! We spent the weekend swimming, cooking and soaking up the sun with each other. A change in location does the mind and body good!
April was all about the brides! I threw my sister’s bachelorette party on Kiawah Island, SC with a night out in Charleston and it was a dream of a weekend! I shared all the details on what we did and my tips on planning in my guide below! The following weekend was another bachelorette party for my friend Grace in Blue Ridge, GA for a Parent Trap themed weekend planned perfectly by her sisters!
May was the month I got a lot of miles on! The bridal fun continued with a quick weekend trip to Chicago for my sister’s bridal shower at Blue Door Kitchen. A few days later, I headed to San Francisco for two days for a work trip with my amazing client Julia!
And with just a few days to unpack and repack, I headed to my favorite city London with my girl Meghan! This was our second time in London together for the Flower Show and had the best time as always! We also added on a few days in The Cotswolds to this trip and these little towns are pure magic. Definitely need to plan a winter trip there for a true The Holiday feeling visit!
June was all about wedding season! I headed to Detroit to celebrate my friends Grace and Sam at their wedding! Then I headed home to Northern Michigan for my sisters wedding! I spent a few weeks at home between preparing for the wedding, the weekend celebrations and then a week to relax and truly enjoy home and Traverse City during the summer!
I normally spend the Fourth of July home in Michigan but since I spent extra time there in June, I decided to head to Nantucket with my girls Allie, Meghan, Carter and Elle! Allie rented an incredible spot right downtown, making it easy for us to visit all of our favorite spots and get some beach time in.
August I made a priority to spend time in NYC after a busy summer and do all my favorite summer activities! From beach days at Rockaway to rooftop wine nights, it felt so good to be with my people and at my apartment!
September took me to Europe to celebrate my friend Nicola’s 30th birthday and we had the dreamiest 10 days in Italy and Malta! There truly is nothing better than Europe this time of year, especially when traveling with some of your best girlfriends!
After returning from Europe, a last minute trip to Sedona came through as a kick off this dream partnership with Expedia! This was my second time back to Sedona and it’s such a magical place to visit.
When we returned from Sedona, Meghan and I did a quick weekend getaway to the Finger Lakes in upstate New York for our fall fix.
Along with moving to a new apartment and my birthday, November was packed full of travel making it truly my busiest month yet! A dream opportunity came through to head back to Taormina with Allie for a work trip with Hotels.com and stay at the incredible Four Seasons San Domenico Palace. A pinch me moment getting to feel like I was in an episode of The White Lotus!
Straight from Italy, I went back to Michigan to Detroit to celebrate bridal showers, engagements and baby showers for my best friends and family. Then up north to home in Traverse City for a cozy and quiet Thanksgiving with my family.
And somehow, we’ve made it to December! I soaked up the holidays in New York (my favorite time of year!) and then made my way back to Michigan for Christmas with my family. A quick trip that I’m so always so grateful for.
And to end the year on a high note, I’m on my way to Milan and Venice to ring in the new year and can’t wait to share all about our cozy Italian celebrations!
